Design Process

Mikado hob, base made by black glass with cast-iron grids with a pretty geometrical design. The name is inspired by the Chinese pick-up sticks game; here, instead of sticks, are the volumes of grid to be on the other one as in a balanced, yet asymmetric game. Metal knobs are essential and minimal, in accordance with the harshness of the product that is anything but trite; in fact, it creates a sort of tangled “map” to play with. Overall pattern seems to be one only, but, indeed, it it is divided into three sections, perfectly camouflaged.
